And one thing I've always wondered is why people assume the singularity that was the World prior to the Big Bang had existed as something separate from space itself (as we so often visualize it) why couldn't this (the now) be the whole singularity as it always has been?

Anyway it makes me want to live my life differently. To not take it for granted and waste it.

The analogy in the comic is invalid, because it ignores one of the fundamental aspects of Evolution, a selective pressure (natural or artificial).

Evolution is not random. Evolution contains random processes, but the overall process is not purely random.
