Ive gone up to calc 3 (multivariable), ive taken linear alg
my hardest math class wasnt even a math class, physical chemistry (thermo and quantum) require a lot more math than they let on :(

So it's not hard; they're just not determined, but I'm not saying it doesn't have difficult concepts.

To anybody saying that calc # is easy though, It's because your professor probably isn't teaching everything in it. How about you go try to learn the entire calculus trio using MIT OCW. You will see how difficult it can be when you don't have a dedicated professor.

At my school, calc 2 was also considered as a sort of weed out class for mechanical engineering students. It was kinda designed to fail people or at least be extra tough. It has something like a 65-70% drop/fail rate.

I think most people teach themselves 90% of the material from higher level courses. Having a shit professor really just makes lecture useless but it doesn't affect your grades too much in my experience.

And it is because professors are not teachers but experts. If we had professors go through some education classes, especially STEM professors, we might have more students graduating with a worthwhile degree.

But I do agree that you much teach yourself; however, a study group can really make things easier. Too many want to do it all themselves.
