Anyone here know what this is. Its like a patch of hard skin that is lighter than the skin around it.

Had it since i was 12... Im 20 now._. Dont really know why just saw it one day i thought it was a scar since i had allot at the time from falling on concreate but never really thought much of it

i mean, if it's not hurting you then it's not a big deal. If it's bothering you just go to a gp and get it checked out - otherwise you could tell people that you got a scar from punching a brick wall or something. it's not that ugly.

Well it's pretty probably just scar tissue or a wart. Either way, if you had it since you were 12, I'm 100% positive it's nothing dangerous.
I mean, any doctor you visited in the past 8 years would have scene it and done something about it, if it were somehow dangerous.
If it doesn't bother you how it looks, just ignore it. If it does, just consult your doctor on how to remove it.

This. Have one on my finger, went to the docs and he syringed it. Loads of clear jelly came out, there's still a bit of a lump. Apparently once you have one there's a chance it will keep coming back.

i've had large callouses that have been that big. you can get rid of them so long as you stop whatever is rubbing on your skin. then use a pumice stone on it in the shower every 2-3 days to lightly shave some off. you should have a full recovery in 4-6 months.

if it's a wart idk, i'm not a diseasefag. go see a doctor.

it may also be a cyst. the hand is a common place to develop one, especially where the joints are. too much strenuous activity or even repetitive tasks like computer keyboard use can develop one. these are entirely benign as it is just some loose fluid that has escaped and your body hardened it to protect yourself.

treatment of a cyst can be as simple as smacking it hard with a book to burst it, or the minimally invasive option is surgery. however, in surgery they will attempt to cut more than they need to in order to create scar tissue. if good scar tissue develops under your skin, it will stop the leak from happening again, but your chances are 60-40 in your favor. you only get one good shot at that scar tissue.

a cyst can also burst on it's own. you may not even notice until it is gone. that's how it was for me. i had a sensitive one on my wrist and was scheduled for surgery. however, getting time booked with my surgeon in the hospital was taking so long (4-5months) that by the time they called to confirm i checked and realized it was gone.

if it's a wart/cyst go see a doctor. any of the three cases aren't very srs tho.
